Objective:  This annotated bibliography assignment allows you to acquaint yourself with a variety of topics related to a particular country. Your goal is to provide your classmates and me with a brief snapshot of issues or events occurring in a country.  The issues don’t have to be “serious” political, social, or economic conflicts.  You’re welcome to choose articles related to entertainment (celebrity gossip), pop culture, or sports.

Skim through at least a week’s (5 days) worth of articles from an international website (such as local newspaper).  Select

• Include at least three or four articles published in a “local” source (one in the country you’re studying)
• Include one or two articles published in an “international” source (a publication outside of the country you’re studying)
• The topics of the articles should be related in some way to the country you’re studying.

Include 5 total sources. Be prepared to discuss a specific issue in class on Wed. April 5th.

Writing Tasks

Most of the sources must be articles posted within the last 7 days. 

You will need to list the sources alphabetically. 

You must do all of the following steps in each annotation:

1. Summarize the source’s main idea.
2. Explain the purpose of the article.
3. Write at least 5 sentences for each annotation.
